Health Calculators for Adults Over 40
Two quick estimators to turn the guides into numbers you can use. No sign-up, nothing stored.
Protein planner for weight loss and GLP-1 use
Many clinicians suggest roughly 1.2 to 1.6 g of protein per kilogram of body weight per day during weight loss. This tool turns that range into daily and per-meal numbers. It is a general estimate, not a prescription.
Not appropriate if you have kidney disease or have been told to limit protein; ask your doctor. Related: GLP-1 and muscle loss, how much protein after 40, best whey protein powders.
Zone 2 heart-rate estimator
Zone 2 is steady, conversational-pace cardio. A commonly used rule of thumb places it at about 60 to 70 percent of maximum heart rate. Maximum heart rate formulas are estimates that can be off by 10 or more beats per minute, so use the talk test as your reality check: you should be able to speak in full sentences.
Check with your doctor before starting vigorous exercise if you have heart disease, chest pain or dizziness. Related: Zone 2 and VO2 max guide, heart rate monitors compared.
